Let's hold that thought

Opinion Journal is reporting an incredibly interesting story regarding Israel's generosity in the aftermath of the Jenin "Massacre". (see "The Massacre That Wasn't--XVI") It's a fascinating story, but with a big problem -- the lone source of the story is one of the screen writers for the movie "The Hurricane" which spins the unlikely yarn that Rubin Carter didn't commit the crimes several reliable witnesses saw him commit. I hope James Tarantino at the Opinion Journal can verify the story independent of Dan Gordan's version, because, if true, it is most definitely a story worth repeating over and over again. As it is, given the obvious bent of the source (Gordon not Tarantino) to hold fast and loose with the truth, it remains an unreliable myth.
