Another Child Taken

Seven year-old Erica Plat was abducted today and her family was immediately hailed with phone calls demanding ransom. I feel for the parents and family of all of these children and I don't even want to imagine what I'd go through if one of my kids were taken. But I can't help wondering. This is the second Black child to be abducted, but the press seems to have taken little interest until what they've reported today about this one. I know lots of Black people go overboard about seeing racism where none exists, but I'll side with them on this one. It's absolutely shameful that Black kids that are abducted are ignored by the press. Do these journalists think Black kids are less loved, less valued, less missed? Are we still at the point that we can't sympathize with grieving Black parents as much as with grieving White parents? Is this insensitivity on the Media's part or on their viewers/readers/listeners? From the way the Media generally don't get America, I'd say it's on the Media's part.
