The Proverbs 31 Woman

My wife and I were talking about something this morning when the topic of the Proverbs 31 woman came up. Like many women, she has the attitude that those verses are best avoided because no woman can be that perfect. I don't like the idea of ignoring any verses, so I explained to her that the Proverbs 31 woman is an example of what women should strive for, not what they should automaticly be. We should all strive to be like Jesus, but we aren't supposed to quit because we aren't like Him.

Anyway, I pointed out that the verses can be divided into specific areas, each with a description of how a woman should be, and then she could take that section and set a goal for how to work towards improving in that area. That way the passage could be a useful continuing study on becoming a Godlier wife and mother.

I had to quit when I got to the part about "her candle goeth not out by night" and I looked over and noticed my wife had drifted off to sleep.
