Andrea Yates back in the news
I saw on Michelle Malkin's blog where Andrea Yates' conviction was thrown out. Apparently one of the prosecution's expert witness invented some facts. Sad that the ordeal has to drag out, but from what I could gather from the information, the experts testimonies went specifically to the point of whether or not she was acting intentionally or was crazy. He claims that he consulted on an episode of "Law & Order" in which a woman drowned her children and later was acquitted by reason of insanity. The prosecution later emphasized that Yates frequently watched the show. It turns out that episode was complete fiction. So much for the "expert's" professional reliability. It also turns out this same guy has been used as an expert witnes on quite a number of other high profile cases.
