Policing the police II

Trial began Monday on the lawsuit filed by 13 people who are suing the government due to excessive use of force during the kidnapping of Elian Gonzalas, and his subsequent return to the prison island of Cuba. The entire nation (Okay, those of us with brains and compassion) were outraged at Bill Clinton and Janet Reno's cruelty in sending the boy back to the horrors his mother died to free him from. But after what Janet Reno did to the children in Waco, maybe Elian got off easy.

I really, really hope this exposes the absolute stupidity the INS showed in taking such drastic and unnecessary steps to return Elian, all the while the 9/11 terrorists were learning how to fly commercial airplanes not too far away in the same state. The irony needs to be brought out, and repeated.

In my opinion and thats just what it is, an opinion,Elian had every right to be reunited with his dad. I also understand that his mom tried to free him but what if he had drowned? Then her attempt was for nothing, she endangered him, his life by letting him do that alone, then trying to stay with him.

Yes his family took him in, being the nephew but they legally had no rights to keep him, seeing as his father was still alive. Yes it sucks but its reality. Put it this way, if your wife/husband ex or not was traveling and something happened to them and they died and another family member picked him up wouldn't you want your child back? Regardless of what part of the country they were in? I think you would.

Yes she tried to free him from Cuba but like I said his father is alive has rights more than an uncle. Thats how feel its only an opinion and some of you might get upset but I'd want my child regardless of what family member had them.

Thank you for the opportunity to voice my opinion.
