Persecution in Iran

From BosNewsLife:

Despite international calls for his release, a Tehran military court sentenced Protestant pastor Hamid Pourmand to jail for three years and ordered his "immediate transfer to a group prison cell in Tehran’s notorious Evin Prison," news reports said late Thursday, February 17.

Well informed Christian news agency Compass Direct, which has close ties with persecuted
believers in the region, said 47-year old Pourmand, a former army colonel, was found guilty
"of deceiving the armed forces" by not declaring he was a convert from Islam to Christianity.

It is illegal for a non-Muslim to serve as a military officer in the Islamic Republic of Iran. However Pourmand, a Christian for nearly 25 years, said he produced several original documents in which his military superiors had acknowledged years ago that he was a Christian.

"But the court didn’t accept them," Compass Direct quoted an unidentified Iranian source as saying. "They said these were false documents."

Also in Iran (as reported by WorldNetDaily):

At least 80 Christian leaders attending the general conference of the Iranian Assemblies of God, being held near Tehran, were arrested and questioned following a police raid three days ago. Ten pastors taken into custody are still being held, and their families are not being allowed to communicate with them.

According to Compass Direct News Service, authorities surrounded the denomination's headquarters in Karaj, 20 miles from the capital, on the conference's first day and burst in suddenly, arresting all those present.

I've always wonder what Moslems have to fear from Christians being allowed freedom. Are they ashamed that their religion will look bad if any other is taught?

(1) the purpose and character of the use, including whether such use is of a commercial nature or is for nonprofit educational purposes;
(2) the nature of the copyrighted work;
(3) the amount and substantiality of the portion used in relation to the copyrighted work as a whole; and

Sorry, once it's appeared on the internet at large(otherwise I wouldn't have had access to it) I see no reason not to quote a portion of it under the very reasonable conditions US Copyright law allows. If you don't want people to quote from it, then my suggestion would be to not display it on the internet, for people without a subscription.

Besides, again, you yourself posted the material you are asking me to remove, on my blog, making your request seem...well...pretty silly.
