Recognition well deserved

From The Christian Post:

Attendees at the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) closing banquet received a surprise visit from Mel Gibson, who accepted the prestigious Directors Award for his film, The Passion of the Christ, on Tuesday, Feb 15, 2005.

The president of the NRB, Dr. Frank Wright, explained that the prestigious award "honors a Christian who demonstrates integrity, displays creativity and makes a significant impact on society," as he presented the crystal trophy to Gibson.

Gibson, clad in jeans and a casual knit shirt, thanked the NRB members for helping make The Passion of Christ a success, and revealed his plans to bring the film back to cinemas this coming Easter.

At least someone has the integrity to give him the recognition he deserves. The Academy Awards has joined the ranks of useless entities in company with the UN, the Nobel Peace Prize, the NAACP, the AARP and the NEA. All organizations that work in opposition to their pretended goals.
