The AAA(L*)S *Leftist

The voice of science is being stifled in the Bush administration, with fewer scientists heard in policy discussions and money for research and advanced training being cut, according to panelists at a national science meeting.

Speakers at the national meeting of the American Association for Advancement of Science expressed concern Sunday that some scientists in key federal agencies are being ignored or even pressured to change study conclusions that don’t support policy positions.

While the AAAS pretends to represent just the interests of Science, their web site reveals that they take a definite turn to the left. From supporting the censoring of scientific theories that contradict the religion of Evolution, to pretending the US's policies toward travel to and from Cuba hamper science more than the oppressive, Communist regime of Cuba does, to completely ignoring all scientific papers and research that present anything but the standard line on HIV. It looks like the AAAS has as much to do with science as the NEA has to do with education. (which is very little)
