Vindication in Simpsonville

From Fox affiliate WHNS:

Officer Michael Snow of the Simpsonville Police Department has been fired.

An internal investigation by the Simpsonville Police Department revealed that the officer acted irresponsibly when he arrested a mother for allegedly assaulting him and a young teenager for carrying a small pocket knife during a home school meeting at a park located about two hundred feet away from the Simpsonville Police Department.

Jason Roberts witnessed his mother's arrest. He says, "The officer pushed her with the baby in her hand. She landed on the concrete. He said, Arrest this woman. She just bought herself a whole lot of trouble."

The group had been attending their meetings at the park for the last five years. Laura Roberts, who was arrested, said they pick this park "because they feel safe knowing it's so close to the police department." But after last week's traumatic incident, the group doesn't know if they'll ever be back.

This is a follow-up on “Who’s policing the police?” Good to see the good guys win. Too bad this was ignored by even the local press, except for the Fox affiliate.
