Your tax dollars at work

From WNCN (NBC17) in North Carolina:

Parents of seventh graders at an Elizabeth City middle school are upset over a homework assignment asking their children to convince President Bush to bring U.S. troops home.

Several teachers at River Road Middle School handed out a writing assignment which said, "The President is sending troops to Iraq to fight. Families are losing loved ones because of Bush's determination to set up democracy in Iraq."

The assignment asks students to write the president, convincing him to send the troops home.

I just bet River Road principle Carolyn Jennings would simply love to hear your thoughts on using taxpayer money for partisan political lobbying and indoctrination of young children against their parents wishes. She can be reached at 252-333-1454 or emailed at cjennings@ecpps.k12.nc.us .
