The shame on Southern Baptists
I have repeatedly held that Moslems have a burden to more vocally oppose the actions of extremists like Bin Laden and the other terrorists. Those terrorists use the name of Islam to do their evil, therefore Moslems bear the weight of distancing themselves from those actions and ideas.
I can do no less for Southern Baptists, which I am one. The murderous Judge George Greer claims to be a Southern Baptist, and until his church quietly requested he remove himself from membership. The MSM repeats that he is supposedly a Southern Baptist. While the Florida Baptist Witness has been one of the leaders in renouncing the evil done by this horrible man, there is an appalling lack of condemnation from other Southern Baptist entities.
Of course I must note that Dr. Richard Land, president of The Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission, the Southern Baptist Convention's official entity assigned to address social, moral, and ethical concerns is speaking clearly against Terri's murder.
But what is painful to note is that here in Oklahoma our state Baptist paper, the Baptist Messenger, seems to have no idea that anything is going on in Florida. At my own church few people are even aware what is going on past the lies being told by the MSM. It's a non-issue to most.
Our inaction condemns us. That a judge, claiming to be a Southern Baptist does such a purely evil thing as George Greer is doing, demands we speak. Yet we are for all intents and purposes, silent. We are the scribe that passes on the other side of the road, to busy to help the injured man -- that the Samaritan eventually aids.

It's not just Terri Schiavo dying in that hospice...it's America
Yesterday, I reported on a document signed by national leaders which called for the dissolution of the government. The entry was also partially posted (the first paragraph) on FreeRepublic.
We deal with a nation that has drifted far from what the Founding Father's intended or wished, and the responses to the post are very illustrative of that fact.
“Fruitcake.”
“He should try Xanex.”
“Uh-huh, ‘dissolve’ the government. Like ‘they’ are just going to go away quietly?”
“Step away from the Bong.”
The document I was referring to, which I linked to, is the Declaration of Independence. A document which states:
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.
Admittedly Freepers do not represent a varied spectrum of Americans, but does anyone for a minute imagine that Freepers would be less inclined to challenge the status quo than the Left, or the bulk of the Right, for that matter? Not one of those who commented recognized the ideas behind the reference. Yet this document represent the very core of the attitudes and philosophies that created our nations.
I am more am more coming to the conclusion that if America allows Terri Schiavo to be murdered, and does not hold those who did it responsible, then we no longer deserve the peace and security the Founding Fathers, and the subsequent generations fought, bled and died to provide for us. When Terri breathes her last, it be the death rattle in the throat of the great American experiment in freedom and Democracy. We will have come full circle and embraced the very evil we were created to be a haven from. America, the land of the brave and the home of the free will be no more, an ugly hollow shell of decaying rot standing in its place.
