Blogging by the numbers
Michelle Malkin has an interesting piece on the number of political blogs and those who read them. John Hinderaker of Powerline also comments on it.
I know that there is some discrepancy between my sitemeter stats, and the custom stats I wrote so I can see who's visiting me. I don't know what method sitemeter uses to determine a visit, but I disregard bots (based on the list of user agents requesting the robots.txt), disregard my own static IP, and then count the number of IPs that remain for that 24 hour period. Since AOL uses a farm of proxies for their users, it throws the count off, but that's probably about as accurate as anyone can get.
It's an interesting discussion which is spreading across a number of blogs.
