FoxNews should put their money where their mouth is.

From FoxNews:

If Terri Schiavo dies from the removal of her feeding tube, her passing should be peaceful, experts say.

After all, she is in a persistent vegetative state without conscious awareness, they noted.

Here's a suggestion: Before reporting such unadultered hogwash, why doesn't one of Fox's commentators, writers or editors actually try going without food for five or six days and give us a first person account of how “peaceful” and “euphoric” it is. Until then I'll call stories like this what they obviously are -- sick rationalizations for murder.

Danny, are you nuts? The part of this woman's brain that would allow her to feel pain or interact with the world are liquid. They no longer exist. I know that folks like you aren't big on logic, reason, or science, but this woman feels nothing now, has felt nothing for 15 years, and will not suffer. Why is it you feel qualified to offer medical opinions? Why do you think that each and every neurologist who has performed an examination, including those appointed by the court, have reached the same conclusion? And please don't cite the opinions of Bill Frist, Tom Delay, or the self-described "Nobel nominated neurologist" who pandered his BS on Scarborough last night. This guy was "nominated" by a right-wing congressman. Given how right-wingers feel about science, he was probably nominated for trying to bring back leeching as a medical treatment. Also, note that one of the two judges on the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals who ruled against the parents was a Bush 41 nominee, while the judge who dissented was a Clinton nominee. So don't give me any of this BS about these horrible liberal judges who just want to "kill" Ms. Sciavo. Anyone who can't distinguish this type of situation, which occurs every day around the country, and murder, probably has little more cerebral cortex remaining than Ms. Schiavo. You ought to get a CT scan to check just in case.

"They are truly withholding food from a person who is awake, alert, and can eat and swallow" -- Dr. William Hammesfahr, a neurologist who has examined Schiavo

Dr. William Maxfield, a Tampa radiologist, agreed that Terri is not in a persistent vegetative state, noting her ability to follow commands and her responsiveness. After comparing Terri's 1996 CAT scan to her 2002 scan, Maxfield also testified that Terri's brain tissue appeared more localized and uniform.

William Polk Cheshire, Jr., M.D,. M.A, F.A.A.N.is a neurologist practicing the State of Florida who believes that it can be ethically permissible to discontinue artificially provided nutrition and hydration for persons in a permanent vegetative state.

"There remain, in fact, huge uncertainties, in regard to Terri’s true neurological status. Although exploring such questions may be uncomfortable, I believe that medicine has an obligation to ascertain the neurological facts to the highest possible degree of certainty.

"Although Terri has undergone structural imaging studies of her brain (such as the CT scan which I have reviewed). She ahas not, to my knowledge, undergoing functional imaging studies, such as positron emission topography (PET) or functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI)."

"He said"---"She said" ...... We can sit here and extract quotes from the media or internet to support our respective views until the cows come home.....it solves ZEEERO. IMO, I think Mike R. nailed it on the head. Additionally, I would think that any rational minded person can see that it's a dismal situation EITHER way. Also, I have yet to see ANYBODY say "Hey, let's just 'murder' her, and be done with it!!!!", but the self-rightious are insistant upon dreaming up the "other side's" quotes FOR them.(Not suprisingly, a primitive tactic)

Unfortunately, at this point it's clearly a case of what is the lesser of TWO 'not-so-pretty' options. But it's not about parents, husbands, political affiliation, or deities..... it's about peace AND DIGNITY for Terri. Quality of life vs Quantity. It's a no-brainer.
