March the Twenty first

This day in history:

(Due to a busy schedule today, comments on events will be sparse. Sorry)

March 21st, 1891 - A Hatfield marries a McCoy, ends long feud in West Virginia; it started with an accusation of pig-stealing & lasted 20 years
March 21st, 1943 - Assassination attempt on Hitler fails (I believe this is the one Hitler blamed Dietrich Bonhoeffer for, and historians have since taken that as fact -- with no evidence)
March 21st, 1952 - Tornadoes in Arkansas, Tennessee, Missouri, Mississippi, Alabama & Kentucky cause 343 deaths
March 21st, 1963 - Alcatraz federal penitentiary in San Francisco Bay closed
March 21st, 1965 - Martin Luther King, Jr. begins march from Selma to Montgomery, AL
March 21st, 1980 - On TV show Dallas, JR is shot (Showing the world that American's could get obsessed by the most trivial things)

Births:
March 21st, 1685 - Johann Sebastian Bach (ah, Bach)
March 21st, 1816 - Charlotte Bronte
March 21st, 1839 - Modest Mussorgsky (composer of some really great pieces)
March 21st, 1918 - Howard Cosell
March 21st, 1946 - Timothy Dalton (kept 007's spot warm until Pierce Brosnan could get his contract straightened out)

Deaths:
March 21st, 1987 - Dean Paul Martin, son of Dean Martin dies at 35, in a military jet crash in the San Bernardino Mountains, California, while on active duty with the California Air National Guard.
