Our Military and Iraq

John of Argghh! (sounds like a Monte python character, doesn't it) explains why the military does what it does.

Rusty at the Jawa Report says that our guys are fighting more foreigners (as in non-Iraqis) than Iraqis in Iraq. Kinda says something about who's really fighting for Iraq, doesn't it.

He also reports three Romanian journalists have been kidnapped in Iraq. Now, why would the terrorists think they could get anything from kidnapping people. Has someone recently paid ransom to a kidnapper? Digger's Realm and HyScience also cover it.

James Joyner points out the hand wringing Reuters is doing about the squabbles in the new Iraqi Parliament. Reuters is a British news service, and our local PBS occasionally airs British Parliament sessions. I'd say Reuters needs to look a little closer to home before whining about Iraq's parliament.
