Please pay no attention to that agenda behind the curtain

From AgapePress:

For those who ridicule the whole notion of a homosexual "agenda," a recent press release from a new coalition of lesbian, "gay," bisexual, and transgendered (LGBT) groups was unwelcome news.

In a joint statement released January 13, an alliance of 22 organizations spoke of a "shared vision," which includes the legalization of same-sex marriage, the continuation of promotional efforts throughout the nation's public school systems, the inclusion of "sexual orientation" in federal hate crimes and nondiscrimination laws, and an end to the ban on homosexuals in the military.

The document can be found here. It takes the typical approach by activist organizations of tossing out numerous vague goals, intermixed with veiled descriptions of exactly the kind of things most people fear they are doing.

Some interesting quotes:

....we remain vulnerable to inaccurate stereotypes manufactured by a small but powerful group of anti-gay extremists.

Kinda like the stuff on “Queer eye for the Straight Guy”? Oh, but wait, that's by the Bravo Network, which is specifically for homosexuals.

Wrapping themselves in cloaks of “family” and “values,” these groups are spending tens of millions of dollars to confuse, distort and subvert the public debate that continues to change hearts and minds about our right to equality...

Of course they're using their own definition of equality, which means government forced endorsement of the homosexual lifestyle. Interesting that their “equality” doesn't seem to mind Canadian pastors who are censored in the pulpit for reading the Bible, or people like the Philly Five who were also arrested for reading the Bible.

This document represents the extreme of homosexuals. Most do not belong to such groups, and do not agree with the actions these groups take, in spite of the efforts by these groups to create the false impression that they represent not only all homosexuals, but the majority of people in general.
