May the Second

This day in history:

May 2, 1890

The Organic Act became law, creating the Oklahoma Territory out of what was then referred to as the “Unassigned Lands” and “No Man's Land”.

May 2, 1933

“In Germany they came first for the Communists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionists. Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak up because I was protestant. Then they came for me, and by that time no one was left to speak up.” -- Martin Niemoller

On this day in 1933, Adolph Hitler banned trade unions in Germany.

May 2, 1957

The myth of "McCarthyism" is the greatest Orwellian fraud of our times. Liberals are fanatical liars, then as now. The portrayal of Sen. Joe McCarthy as a wild-eyed demagogue destroying innocent lives is sheer liberal hobgoblinism. Liberals weren't hiding under the bed during the McCarthy era. They were systematically undermining the nation's ability to defend itself, while waging a bellicose campaign of lies to blacken McCarthy's name. Liberals denounced McCarthy because they were afraid of getting caught, so they fought back like animals to hide their own collaboration with a regime as evil as the Nazis. As Whittaker Chambers said: "Innocence seldom utters outraged shrieks. Guilt does." — Ann Coulter

Patriot, American Hero and to this day, target of media scorn and lies for more than half a decade, Senator Joseph McCarthy on this day in 1957 died at Bethesda Naval Hospital in Maryland at age 48.

More about McCarthy here (last section)

May 2, 1972

Another victim of the MSM lie machine, J. Edgar Hoover, head of the FBI for 48 years, died at age on this day in 1972 at age 77.

Both McCarthy and Hoover fought the Communist infiltration of the media. Both are now falsely demonized by that same media which makes the absurd claim that they've never been controlled by Communists.

You forgot one. 60 years ago today, Berlin fell to the Soviet union, a mere two days after Hitler' suicide.

Very educational. I've always thought McCarthy made a lot of sense. It's scary how right he actually was!
