John Roberts

Trent Lott claims Roberts is bound by Roe v. Wade.

Judge Roberts has acknowledged that Roe v.Wade, the case which legalized abortion in the early 1970s, is the law. In keeping with his core conservative philosophy of interpreting the law as written, he is bound by it.

I thought Lott was smarter than that. If 5 justices can invent a woman's right to murder her baby, then why would Roberts not have the equal right to decide (as did 4 of the 9 in Roe v Wade) that the Constitution guarantees no such thing?

Hillary is letting it leak out that she will vote for Roberts. What's she up to?

I agree with you - Roberts is bound by the constitution not the result of judicial activism. Re:Hilary - she knows Roberts will be confirmed - she's using this to "reach out" and appear moderate.
