Liberals demonstrate their bigotry

From Yahoo News...

Miami city leaders are apologizing for a news release that invited summer campers to a “Ghetto Style Talent Show” and “Watermelon Eating Contest.”

The release said that children participating in the summer camp who "know the meaning of ghetto style" would have a chance to “prove just how ghetto they are.”

Members of the black community expressed outrage at the wording of the invitation to the talent show. The show will be part of the grand finale picnic for the city's summer camp program to be held Friday at Hadley Park.

Miami has long been a Democrat stronghold, and was one of Gore's key counties in his failed attempt at litigating himself into office in 2000.

After enough criticism over the talent show name, the parks director chose a different one that, he felt, wouldn't instill as much racial stereotyping. It's now the “Funky Talent Show”.... and they're still having the watermelon eating contest.

Speaking of bigoted Liberals...

Tim Blair points out a racist assumption by David Marr in the Sydney Morning Herald...

In Victoria, two hellfire Christian preachers, Danny Nalliah and Daniel Scot, are facing jail after preaching against Islam in the aftermath of September 11, 2001. Ever since, they've been fighting an action brought by the Islamic Council of Victoria under the state's new Racial and Religious Tolerance Act.

That's the pesky thing about these laws that show almost zero tolerance for religious and racial intolerance: they can be turned against decent white folk.

Here are David's “decent white folk”. Daniel Scot (on the left) and Danny Naliah (on the right). I guess David just assumes that anyone who does anything he thinks is bigoted is white. Mighty white of him, wouldn't you say.
