Liberals selectively apply first amendment

When Larry Flynt published in Hustler magazine that Jerry Falwell had lost his virginity with his own mother, in an outhouse, while goats watched, Falwell sued. A brain dead court sided with Flynt, saying he was just joking. Hollywood, to celebrate, calling it a First Amendment victory, made a move The People v. Larry Flynt to “honor” Flynt's victory.

Now, fast forward to today.

From NewsMax:

On July 1, 2004, Dr. Falwell sent a "Falwell Confidential" e-mail urging people of faith to exercise their vote during the presidential election. In the e-mail, Dr. Falwell stated, "For conservative people of faith, voting for principle this year means voting for the re-election of George W. Bush. The alternative, in my mind, is simply unthinkable."

The e-mail also urged supporters to contribute to the Campaign for Working Families Political Action Committee.

Campaign Legal Center filed a complaint with the FEC alleging that Jerry Falwell Ministries (JFM) and Liberty Alliance (LA), a lobbying organization, violated election laws by circulating an e-mail that expressly advocated the election of a federal candidate and contained a solicitation for contributions to a PAC.

The Campaign Legal Center is another Liberal front group that pretends to be bi-partisan, but during the 2004 Presidential election, while it offered the occasional whine about George Soros and MoveOn.org, they filed a complaint against the Swift Vets. I could find no mention of their ever filing a complaint against any Liberal group. They'll offer meaningless press releases posturing about campaign reform, but reserve their action for Conservative groups.

So what does all this mean? Freedom of Speech to Liberals means vermin like Larry Flynt can says anything he wants about a Conservative, but that same Conservative can't send out an email urging people to vote for George W. Bush.

Oh, and the FEC unanimously dismissed the CLC's idiotic complaint.

Think Hollywood will make a movie about Falwell's victory for free speech? LOL.
