Moslem groups demand Tancredo's resignation
I guess this would be funny, if it just weren't so darned sad.
From the Associated Press via Tampa Bay Online...
Abdur-Rahim Ali, imam of the Northeast Denver Islamic Center, said Tancredo's statement that "you could take out" Islamic holy sites in a retaliatory attack was unacceptable.
"What would happen if a prominent Muslim made that statement about Catholic holy places like the Vatican?" asked Ali.
Poor Ali. I guess he never heard the thing about people who live in glass houses. “Prominent” Moslems say that kinda crap all the time. We pretty much expect it from them. We also expect other Moslems to say nothing against such hate-filled rhetoric, because that's almost always what happens. But Tancredo is being raked over the coals by more than just Moslems. A lot of people, me included, are criticizing him for his remarks. That's the big difference. I'm not reading news stories about Abdur-Rahim Ali criticizing his fellow Moslems for their words AND ACTIONS. I do read blogs, OpEds and news stories about Tancredo's remarks.
