Fifteen minutes to pack: GO!

From John Hawkins who got it from Ambra Nykola who seems to have gotten it from Micki's Blog ...

So you have to leave your house. The situation is pretty serious and you're not quite sure the house will be there when you return. Let's just say hypothetically, you have about 15 minutes to decide what to take. You may be leaving on foot, loading up your car or even hopping on a plane. Either way,

What must absolutely come with you?

Me? Well, in an ideal world...

My kids' medicine. Our firesafe, which has no money in it (in case anyone reading this were to get any ideas) but is packed with stuff we wouldn't want to lose, like videos of my two oldest being born, CD backups of lots of the stuff on my computer, birth certificates, SS cards, etc.

If there were room I'd take my computer (not the peripherals, just the tower). If there weren't room, or I had the time, I'd just take the hard drive. I'd also grab the digital camera.

John mentioned his dog. I kind of assumed pets were a given, although we have a dog, a cat and a turtle. We have a carry case for the cat, and the dog is used to riding in the car. We could figure something out for the turtle.

My Bible, my harmonica (just started learning it, and it'd be a nice way to pass the time) clothes and toiletries, some books.

But in the real world...

With four kids, fifteen minutes wouldn't even be enough to help them get their stuff, because they'd be trying to gather toys, while claiming they couldn't find any of the stuff they'd really need.
