Is there a hen in the Fox house?

Saw Neil Boortz on FoxNews last night debating Alan Colmes and some fruitcake who claimed that banishing the word "Christmas" wasn't an attack on Christians. The debate was about the frequency of replacing the word "Christmas" with something less religious sounding. (I found it ironic that Boortz who seems to bash Christians often, was this time defending Christian traditions. Maybe it's not the traditions that bother him as much as the core message, eh.) O'Reilly has echoed the complaint and Fox's John Gibson has even written a book about it.

Then this page shows up on Fox's web site.

If they've changed the wording here is what it says as I write this...

Holiday Trees Arrive at Capitol, White House

Monday, November 28, 2005

WASHINGTON â€” Two of the nation's three branches of government were adorning themselves with more branches Monday as holiday trees were delivered to the Capitol and the White House.

The Capitol Holiday Tree, which originated from New Mexico's Santa Fe National Forest, was cut earlier this month and has been on a tour across the state since them. According to the Web site for the tree, the Engelmann spruce stands 80 feet tall.

Fox doesn't attribute the story to any news service and Reuter's headline of the same coverage reads, "White House Christmas tree arrives" while the Associated Press's headline reads "Christmas Season Begins at White House".

As Max Headroom once said, "With friends like this, who needs an enema?"

Danny,

The title question was answered yesterday. The Capitol tree is officially called the "Capitol Holiday Tree", not a Christmas tree. John Gibson brought it up at the end of his show and said he was going to do some checking to find out when the official nomeclature was changed and why.
