Disarming news

From WorldNetDaily...

More than one year before today's unprecedented shooting rampage at Virginia Tech, the state's General Assembly quashed a bill that would have given qualified college students and employees the right to carry handguns on campus.

At the time, Virginia Tech spokesman Larry Hincker said he was happy to hear of the bill's defeat, according to the Roanoke Times.

"I'm sure the university community is appreciative of the General Assembly's actions because this will help parents, students, faculty and visitors feel safe on our campus," the Virginia Tech spokesman said.

FACT: There has never, ever been a murder committed by someone carrying a legally concealed-carry gun.

FACT: People are murdered daily across the nation by people using illegal guns.

FACT: Guns laws stop only the law-abiding from carrying guns, but they are not the ones killing people.

Had even one student been carrying a legally concealed weapon, dozens of lives could have been saved.

You can read Virginia's Concealed Carry law here (although I personally think §18.2-283 is doubly unconstitutional in that it violates both the First and Second Amendments of the Constitution's Bill of Rights). That Universities and Colleges are also included in the places licensed CC permit holders cannot bring their guns should now be looked at as part of the cause of yesterday's massacre.
