A church in Mexico needs help after Hurricane Dean

Here a message from the pastor...

I pastor the Calvary Baptist Church in Chetumal, Quintana Roo, Mexico

As many of you may have seen on the news, Hurricane Dean just passed through and left much destruction.

No one was hurt, and we praise the Lord for that. We do have some families that are without homes right now, staying in our house and with others. Still no electricity, still no water, but we have a great Saviour.

I sent out an e mail to my friends and supporters for financial help. I'll do the same here. We need about 500 to 600 $ a piece to build a small wood and carton roofed house for some 11 families.

Anyone who would like to help can send their gift to:

Open Door Baptist Church
17014 44th Ave W
Lynnwood, Wa, 98037

mark it Hurricane Relief and it will go 100% to that end.

Our own house sustained minor damage, a large mango tree was ripped up by the roots, fell on our cistern and crushed our water pump and water lines that feed the house. Several windows, and some flooding in the rooms up stairs.

Our asst pastor Leo has lost much as his house was under 5 feet of water, now 2 feet of mud.

The church is working together to help one another and their is a great Spirit.

My wife, Liz and my daughter Genny are still in Mexico. I was not there for the hurricane, as I am in Lancaster, Ca taking my son to college there. I cannot get back to Chetumal until further notice. Probably another week.

I praise my Lord for the protection he afforded my family and my church members through this frightening ordeal.

Thank you all at On Line,

bro mitchell
