The war against Christianity
From the Alliance Defense Fund...
PHILADELPHIA — ADF attorneys filed a friend-of-the-court brief Wednesday in support of a parent barred from reading the Bible in her child’s classroom as part of a school assignment where parents were invited to read their child’s favorite book. The child, a kindergarten student, asked his mother to read from the Bible as part of a Social Studies assignment that had no content restrictions. On May 31, a federal district court sided with the school, and the case is now on appeal.
“Christian students and their parents are not second-class citizens,” said ADF Legal Counsel Jeremy Tedesco. “The school’s decision to ban religious speech is nothing more than blatant viewpoint discrimination.”
“This was not about proselytizing anyone,” added ADF Senior Legal Counsel David Cortman. “It was about letting students tell the class about what things are important to them, and the Bible is important to this student.”
The purpose of the classroom assignment, titled “All About Me,” was to provide an opportunity for children to “identify individual interests and learn about others.” The activity allowed students to discuss their interests and information about themselves through the use of items such as stuffed animals, posters, snacks, games, and other mediums.
Culbertson Elementary School student Wesley Busch asked his mother to read from his favorite book, the Bible. In response, school officials told Donna Kay Busch that the school viewed the Bible as “proselytizing” and as “promoting a specific religious point of view.” However, the teacher permitted another parent to discuss the Jewish religious holidays of Passover and Hanukkah with the class. In place of the Bible, Wesley’s teacher suggested that Mrs. Busch read a book “about witches and Halloween” to the class.

Your can talk about Witchcraft, Judaism, Islam, Atheism or any other religion, but Christianity is banned, and the dimwits in charge think this is somehow in accordance with the First Amendment? This is a serious battle if they are now willing to be this blatant.
