Reid dislikes Bush's AG pick
From Reuters...
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid vowed on Wednesday to block former Solicitor General Theodore Olson from becoming attorney general if President George W. Bush nominates him to replace Alberto Gonzales.
Congressional and administration officials have described Olson as a leading contender for the job as the nation's chief U.S. law enforcement officer, but Reid declared: "Ted Olson will not be confirmed" by the Senate.
Is it possible for Bush to pick anyone right of Teddy Kennedy without Reid having a fit? You'd think that would be obvious, but apparently not. Reuters also reports...
Senate Republicans warned the White House Wednesday that it's not a good time for a fight with Democrats over a new attorney general and predicted there would be one of President Bush nominates former Solicitor General Ted Olson.
What a bunch of girls!
Since when has it been required for Republicans to leave their backbones at home? Let's pick more fight with Liberals. We don't want them to get their way, that's why there are two parties, because we disagree.

All I know about Olson is that his wife Barbara died on 9/11 in the airplane that hit the Pentagon, and she'd just finished a book that was published posthumously, The Final Days: The Last, Desperate Abuses of Power by the Clinton White House. She'd previously written Hell to Pay: The Unfolding Story of Hillary Rodham Clinton. Sounds like she's an excellent judge of character, so that should say something about the man she chose to marry. Now we know Harry Reid doesn't like him. Sounds to me like some sterling recommendations that he'd make an excellent AG.
