The Joys of Socialized Medicine

To sum it up, a 2-year-old boy British doctors ruled deaf in one ear, was cured miraculously when a small piece of cotton popped out of his ear nine years later when he was 11. A sign of what's to come with Hilary Care!

From The London Mirror...

Yesterday Mr Bartens, 45, told how Jerome was playing with his friends in a church hall when he heard a popping sound in his right ear.

He put his finger in and found the tip of a cotton wool bud.

"It was just incredible - his hearing returned to normal in an instant.

"He was cured as suddenly as he became deaf. I had always suspected Jerome had stuck something in his ear when he was little and that was causing the problem.

"But the doctors and hearing specialists said it was wax and he would probably grow out of it.

"I am amazed they didn't spot something as obvious as a cotton wool bud."

How hard is it to find the end of a Q-tip with today's medical technology? I hear the doctors had been really busy trying to figure out how to empty water out of a boot that had instructions had been written on the heal.

Yeah! Let's use one mishap to discredit socialized medicine. I mean, it's not like we have surgeons here in the US that have accidentally amputated incorrect limbs or anything. Oh, wait.....

If you're going to criticize something, at least have something relevant to back it up. This is simply a sad attempt to ridicule socialized medicine while simultaneously ignoring our own health system's problems.
