A rude awakening for Californians hoping to cash in on the homosexual marriage rush

From AFP (Annoying Frog Press)...

California's economy is poised for a multi-million-dollar windfall as same-sex marriages get underway here Monday, with the tourist sector eyeing a bonanza as gays and lesbians flock to the state to tie the knot.

Analysts say that a mini-industry will sprout up as California prepares to become the only US state that will allow gays and lesbians from outside the region to get hitched on its soil. Massachusetts, the only other US state to allow same-sex marriage, forbids non-residents from exchanging vows there....

According to a University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) study published earlier this week, around 51,000 of the 102,000 same-sex couples living in California are expected to marry over the next three years.

A further 67,500 same-sex couples from other states that are likely to recognize their vows are expected to come to California during the same period to get married, the study found.

Except "analysts" are often wrong when it comes to politically motivates figures. Ted Baehr notes...

In fact, in the last five years, overt homosexual movies, including well-known films like "Brokeback Mountain" and "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry" and such losers like "Transamerica," "Another Gay Movie," "Shortbus," "Breakfast on Pluto," "Kinky Boots," "The History Boys" and "Adam & Steve," averaged only $7.97 million at the box office. In contrast, movies with very strong Christian worldviews have averaged $76.97 million, or 10 times more money!"

Except when you check out NetFlix, you see an entire category devoted to "Gay & Lesbian" movies, yet Christian movies are lumped into "Faith & Spirituality" which includes films for all religions, as well as films attacking religion, such as "Dogma", "Saved" or "Jesus Camp" as well as films that have absolutely nothing at all to do with religion like "Mona Lisa Smile", "Hotel Rwanda" and "The Emperor's Club". Since a very sizable percentage of Americans are active, professing Christians (percentages range from 40 to 60%) while even the wildly inaccurate Kinsey estimates (base solely on the sexual behavior on men in prison) put the homosexual population at 10% (more scientifically valid studies have put the number closer to 2 or 3%) why would Netflix as well as Hollywood be pumping so much effort into such a small demographic? They depend on "analysts" who are on better terms with their own political agendas than the real numbers.

Realistic estimates of the response to the California Courts' usurping of power can be demonstrated in nations that already endorse homosexuality...

Sweden was the first country in Europe to legalize homosexual unions in 1989, with Denmark and Norway following shortly behind. Stanley Kurtz, a research fellow at the Hoover Institution, stated in his article "The End of Marriage in Scandinavia" the issue is not about "marriage for homosexuals," but rather "social approval for homosexuality," according to homosexual activists themselves. After nine years, only 2,372 homosexual couples took advantage of the Danish law allowing homosexual marriage. After four years, only 749 homosexual Swedes and only 674 homosexual Norwegians bothered to "get married."

The population of Sweden as of July 2008 is estimated at around 9 million. Two percent of that would be 180,000. The population of Denmark at the same time was around 5.5 million. Norway, 4.5 million. Using the 2% number (the 10% number would produce results showing even less participation), that would mean of the potential couples that could marry in Sweden less than one percent did. In Denmark a little over 4 percent. In Norway, a little more than .5 percent (that's half a percent).

Supposedly the US Census has claimed that there are just over 145,000 homosexuals "households" in the US. This would be homosexual couples living together. California accounted for 25% of the total. So that means there are only a a little over 100,000 homosexual couples outside of California . Even at Denmark's level, that would mean a "rush" of 4,370 couples, but remember it took the Danes 9 years to reach that number, so that would mean California could expect only about 483 or so homosexual couples a year. At Norway's level the "rush" would be a trickle of just 60 couples a year. Cha Ching!

WorldNetDaily had several articles in the last couple of weeks saying that the wording of the Californication marriage licenses had to be altered to include the new definition of "marriage" by act of the LEGISLATURE, and alteration by any other agency rendered them non-valid. This is going to give other states, and their insurers/companies and etc. a built-in legal dispute to claims made for benefits, and recognition of marital status for the non-Californians married there. The California blackrobed fascists have created a new industry for lawyers on all sides of this issue that will probably run into the BILLIONs of dollars, as well as rendering ALL of there own decisions in serious doubt(esp. when the fall ballot initiative succeeds in overturning their recent ruling).
