Obama: Fight the Smears?--part 3
From "Fight the Smears"...
Lie:
Barack Obama is a Muslim.Truth:
Senator Obama has never been a Muslim, was not raised as a Muslim, and is a committed Christian.
Well, it would depend on who's definition you use. If we use the Liberal definition applied to Conservative Christians who are accused of being anti-Black and hating homosexuals because someone, somewhere who claims to be a Christian also hates Blacks and homosexuals, then Obama is a Moslem. And this would be prominent Democrats who have made such statements about Christians.
If you use the Moslem's definition, then he's a Moslem.
I'd say before Obama can truthfully deny that he's a Moslem, he needs to first address the name calling prominent Democrats do toward Conservative Christians based on absolutely no evidence, before we'd be inclined to accept his word that he's not, or has never been a Moslem, based on some pretty solid evidence that at one time he was considered a Moslem.
But more than that, I'd like to know what prominent Republican has actually, publicly accused Obama of being a Moslem. I can't find any, so that would make this, in actuality another smear by Obama and his campaign against Republicans.
Is Obama a Moslem? There's really no evidence that he is, but then, in all honesty there's as little evidence that he's actually a Christian. Was he raised Moslem? Still a subjective question. Both his biological father and his stepfather were Moslems, but that doesn't necessarily mean they "raised" him as a Moslem. He did attend a Moslems school that taught the Koran. Such a school in the US that taught the Bible would be considered a Christian school, and by any definition those children being educated there would be considered to have been taught Christianity. So why the double standard?
The facts are at one point he was considered a Moslem, and he attended a school where he was taught Islam. But we'd have to consider that it's fairly clear that Obama did not live a Moslem lifestyle after leaving that school and has never publicly claimed to be a Moslem, so it would be unfair to both him and to real Moslems to claim that what little evidence exists, proves he is or was a Moslem.
Lie:
Barack Obama attended a "radical madrassa."Truth:
Barack Obama never attended a "radical madrassa." Watch the video below to learn the truth:
Prominent Republicans (in the media) reported that Hillary's campaign was circulating this rumor, but made no attempt at claiming the rumor was true. Fox News' John Gibson reported last January...
JOHN GIBSON, HOST: ...this is what Democrats are saying, according to Insight magazine. They're looking into his background. They're saying: He was a Muslim. He concealed it. His opponents within the Democrats hope this will become a major issue in the campaign.
Now, we have heard about dirty politics before. Republicans aren't involved in this one. What do you think about what's going on over there?
TERRY HOLT, REPUBLICAN STRATEGIST: John, the last time I checked, there was still a freedom of religion in this country. And this is either a despicable act by an absolutely ruthless Clinton political machine. We know that they are capable of doing this. But it wasn't directly linked to Hillary Clinton. If it wasn't her, then certainly she should disavow it because I think we have spent an awful lot of time in this country trying to tamp down anti-religious sentiments.
Yet, Obama claims it's part of a "right-wing" smear campaign, and the Liberal Media instantly blamed Fox News for spreading the rumor when they simply reported it and openly condemned it. So who's smearing who?
Lie:
Senator Obama was sworn into the U.S. Senate using the Koran.Truth:
Barack Obama was sworn in using his family Bible.
After an extensive search the only mention I can find of this accusation is that of Liberals claiming Conservatives are making it, yet I can find not one, even remotely prominent Republican, who has made this accusation. In fact the only mentions I've seen of anyone claiming it are a few off-hand comments on some blogs. Even those were questions from people who said they'd heard it, which means they could just as easily have heard it from the Liberals making the accusation that Conservatives are saying it.
Again, Obama's defend himself from "smears" by smearing people.
