Apparently, McDonald's hates Christians
From the Washington Post...
The American Family Association (AFA) launched the boycott yesterday because McDonald's joined the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce several months ago and placed an executive on the group's board of directors, in addition to donating to the chamber.
The association asked McDonald's to remove itself from the chamber but the burger-maker declined, leading to the boycott. "We're saying that there are people who support AFA who don't appreciate their dollars from the hamburgers they bought being put into an organization that's going to fight against the values they believe in," Tim Wildmon, the association's president, said yesterday.
"Hatred has no place in our culture," McDonald's USA spokesman Bill Whitman said. "That includes McDonald's, and we stand by and support our people to live and work in a society free of discrimination and harassment."
Hatred?!? What does "hatred" have to do with any of this?!? The AFA has made it very, very clear that...
- This boycott is not about hiring homosexuals.
- It is not about homosexuals eating at McDonald's.
- It is not about how homosexual employees are treated.
They've mentioned that in every information they've put out about the boycott. So, where does the "hate" come in?
What the AFA (and I) object to is...
...McDonald's, as a corporation, refusing to remain neutral in the culture wars. McDonald's has chosen not to remain neutral but to give the full weight of their corporation to promoting the homosexual agenda, including homosexual marriage.
Most Americans opposed homosexual marriage, not just Christians. Opposing homosexual marriage does not mean you hate anyone. But it seems McDonalds wants to go one step further than support the homosexual agenda, including homosexual marriage, and declare anyone who opposes homosexual marriage is a hatemonger. Disregarding fake Christians who use the term for convenience only, Christians oppose homosexual marriage, but they don't hate homosexuals. So McDonalds lies to claim their support for homosexual marriage is because they believe those opposed to homosexual marriage (namely Christians) are full of hatred.
Of course, I stopped eating at McDonalds long, long ago after I couldn't convince the illegal aliens they hire to work there to actually cook the hamburger so it would drip bloody grease all over the styrofoam container. But I support the AFA in urging other to boycott McDonalds.
As for those McDonalds franchise owners caught in the middle of this, McDonalds has been a sinking ship for some time now, and any business owner needs to seriously assess his investment so as to not get caught when situations like this occur. It's not like there haven't been glaring signs that McDonalds is no longer the respectable company they used to be.
