POLL: What would you have done?

From KABC-TV in Los Angeles...

Lapriss Gilbert said she was kicked out of the federal building in Van Nuys because of her Lesbian.com T-shirt. Gilbert says it began when she walked in the door, then was ejected by a security guard. The guard told Gilbert the shirt was offensive.

"He escorted me out of the building. He opened the door, and so I had to leave," said Lapriss Gilbert.

Gilbert says the security guard told her she had to leave or she would go to jail....

Onlookers began voicing their opinions as well.

"Stating their opinions ... People were getting on the phone calling the police ... and, it just turned into a mad house," said Derek Hughes, witness.

As the situation escalated, another man was threatened with arrest.

"He was going to lock him up too because he was like, 'Well, are you with them?' And he was just like, 'Yeah!' And I'm like, 'Oh wow, you're going to go to jail with us,'" said Lapriss Gilbert. "Everybody's going to go to jail over a T-shirt!"

A supervisor finally overruled the guard

As I read this, I wondered, what would I have done. While I don't endorse homosexuality, to kick someone out of a building for wearing a tee-shirt that simply said "lesbian.com" is going way overboard. We Christians get the raw end of the moronic attitude of police, security guards and others in authority positions, we need to make sure we are consistent in our approach to all issues of free speech.

So, how would you have responded?

NOTE: I am under no obligation to preserve the incoherent mutterings of illiterate morons. I have no problem with people disagreeing with me, but make sure you actually know what you're talking about, or your comment will be removed.
