10 things that really suck about working from home

1. People think you're just goofing off, so pester you with questions, errands and other annoyances.

2. You have to work while watching the rest of your family play on a day off.

3. If you take even one second doing something that doesn't look like work, and someone happens to walk by, they assume you've been playing for hours.

4. You miss, real adult conversation.

5. The noise.

6. Kids with trivial questions or observations.

7. People constantly wanting to look over your shoulder to see what you're doing.

8. Kids fighting over toys causing you to have to stop doing what pays for those stupid toys.

9. Making yourself work when you really don't want to.

10. Twenty minutes into an extremely complex scripting problem, one of your kids asks a question they should already know the answer to, causing you to lose track of what you were doing and start all over from scratch, thereby wasting the entire 20 minutes, which you then (because you're too honest) have to deduct that time from the client's billing, losing money--and you know no matter how many times you explain why you shouldn't be bothered, they'll do it again before the day is out.
